How to measure your wall
Two numbers is all we need: the width and the height of your wall, in inches. A measuring tape and two minutes is enough. You do not need to be exact — we print 10% extra material free, so a small mistake is already covered.
Width
Measure from the left edge of the wall to the right edge, at the widest point. Include the area behind furniture if you want the wallpaper to run behind it — most people do, because furniture moves.
Height
Measure from the floor to the ceiling, or from wherever you want the wallpaper to start and stop — above a dado rail, for example.
If the wall is not a simple rectangle
- Sloped or slanted ceiling. Measure the height at the tallest point, not the average. We print the full rectangle and you trim the slope during installation.
- Doors and windows. Measure the whole wall as if they were not there. We print over them and the installer cuts the openings. This is normal and it is why the pattern still lines up around the frame.
- Switches, sockets and air conditioners. Ignore them. Same as above — the installer cuts around them.
- Two or more walls. Order each wall separately so the pattern starts cleanly at each corner. Message us if you want one continuous design wrapping a corner.
- Uneven or wavy walls. Measure at three points — top, middle and bottom — and use the largest number.
Feet to inches
Our size boxes are in inches, not feet. Multiply your feet by 12.
- 8 ft = 96 inches
- 10 ft = 120 inches
- 12 ft = 144 inches
- 7 ft 6 in = 90 inches
So a wall that is 10 ft wide and 8 ft high is 120 × 96, which comes to 80 sq.ft.
What happens after you order
We send you a digital preview of the design on your wall size before anything is printed. Nothing goes to the printer until you approve it, so if a measurement looks wrong to us, we will ask.
